DAY #11 - In and around UTAH

We started our day off by meeting up with President and Sister Cottle, from the Georgia Macon Mission, for breakfast at Kneaders in Lindon.  They were released from their mission the end of June.  They became such great friends of ours while we were on our mission.  We LOVE them.  What a great time we had in getting to visit with them.

We drove up to Logan, Utah after breakfast.  We love driving through the beautiful CACHE VALLEY area to get there.

Our first stop in Logan was at the Larsen's home.  Elder Larsen is serving in the Brunswick Ward, our home ward.  He found out we were going to be in Logan and we offered to deliver a box to his home for him.  His mom was SO SURPRISED when we showed up.  How fun to see that they were flying the Maryland State Flag in their front foyer!  Love the missionary spirit.

We then drove over to pick Elder Jacob Lamb up from his apartment, just off of Utah State University campus.  Elder Lamb was one of our missionaries from the Georgia Atlanta Mission.  He arrived in the mission field just after we arrived.  He has been home for less than 2 weeks now.  We then picked Ele up.  We headed over to Angie's Restaurant for lunch.  Right across the street from Angie's is the A & W drive in where I used to eat when I was attending USU!!  WOW has the area grown up a LOT since I was there almost 50 years ago!!

After lunch we drove over to the Logan Temple with a specific goal in mind.  This is where Wayne and I were married on December 27, 1968.....almost 48 years ago.

With Ele and Jacob's help, we were able to recreate our wedding day foto....original on the left and today on the right.  Pretty close I would say, wouldn't you!!??

And there are Jacob and Ele on the other side of the fence getting our 'position' set up...they were looking at the original and telling us where to stand!

We then went on campus and walked around a little bit.  It was fun.  It was fun to hang our with them.    Thanks you two for hanging out with us old folks!

When we left Logan, we drove to Brigham City.  That is where my brother and sister-in-law live, John and Joan Johnson.  Joan was not there but we got to visit a little bit with Johnny and one of their daughters and son-in-law, Heather and Carson Walker.

As we were headed back to Lindon we drove right past the BRIGHAM CITY TEMPLE.  There was a storm brewing and presented a great foto of the temple with the lighting.

Across the street from the Temple is the Tabernacle.  Again, beautiful setting with the stormy clouds as the backdrop.
Made it safely back to Lindon.....in spite of the horrible storms and heavy rains.  So glad to be safely back.  And the adventure continues!!!.......
