DAY #9 - Greeley, Colorado to Green River, Wyoming
We started our Sunday off by attending Sacrament Meeting in one of the wards in Greeley, WY. Can't remember the name but Brother and Sister Hardgrave met us there (they are in another ward). How fun to be able to spend a little more time with them again this morning. We surely love them. They were the Area Mental Health Advisors while we served as the Area Medical Advisors. Sure miss our mission and all the great things we were involved in and the great people we got to work with!! They look so long and spry in their little mustang convertible!!!
After Sacrament Meeting, we headed on our 5 hour drive to Green River Wyoming where we would spend the night. The scenery was just gorgeous the entire way.
Around every bend, and over the next hill or mountain, there were more great views that just seemed to go on forever.
And FOREVER.....
We had a TON of trucks on the road. Liked the message this trucker had for those passing by....and YES, we did pray today!! :-)
We certainly didn't need a sign to tell us that it was windy....but, I guess just in case someone had not noticed how windy it was, the sign would remind us anyway. IT WAS SOOOOOO WINDY!!!
We needed gas. We don't like to get it on Sunday but in the middle of Wyoming is not the place to run out and have to walk! We opted to get our 'ox' (van) out of the mire and stopped to fill it up. It was a Sinclair Gas Station. Love the green dinosaur they have there.
We were watching for the CONTINENTAL DIVIDE sign. And, out of nowhere, there it was.
And, again, the scenery was gorgeous!!!
WOW was our reaction when we saw our hotel setting for tonight. Gorgeous view. And, our room faced that beautiful backdrop in the back of the hotel. Could not have asked for a better location!
The view from our room was awesome!
Wayne actually claimed to the base of those butes. I couldn't because I forgot my tennis shoes and my sandals just weren't cutting it! I tried but didn't get very far. This is the foto Wayne took from the top looking down on our hotel. I think I might be standing down there somewhere but he is so far away you can't really see me!
After Wayne got down from his little hike, we decided to take a selfie. Can you tell how windy it was! We felt like we were going to get blown over.
I have never seen, nor did we expect to find, a COWBOY CHAIR in our hotel room! That is really attention to details!
And that brings us to the end of our 9th day on our ROAD TRIP....we arrive in UTAH tomorrow excited to see kids and grandkids and friends and whatever else we can scrounge up!! Watch out Utah....here we come!! :-)
